Embedded computers interact with the world. For this it is necessary that the computer can somehow form a model (or image) of its world. When the computer has to take action towards the world, it must also have active elements such as lights, displays, actuators or motors etc.
To get a better understanding of the possibility and limitations of the way a computer can observe and influence the world you should write a short essay, supported with references from literature or the Internet, on sensors and actuators for embedded systems. The length of the essay should be between 400 and 600 words.
